David Suchet has, at last, told the public what the new four Poirot TV films will be. He made the declaration (wrong word) on a British chat show. If you want to know what the films are, visit my humble page (trying to raise number of visitors to 1,000...) at www.expage.com/poirotandmarple

This is terrific news! I hope Ariadne Oliver is not omitted from the story, and that Colonel Race is again played by James Fox.
In the interview, did Suchet say anything more about the films, such as will Hastings, Japp and Miss Lemon be present? |

I knew about "The Mystery of the Blue Train", but not what the other three were going to be. I thought poorly of the novel believe it or not, but I'm excited that it will be adapted.
For "Cards on the Table", all I have to say is 'hoorah'! I certainly hope that James Fox will be back as Colonel Race, and that the filmmakers get an exceptional actress for Ariadne Oliver. Now we can have hopefully all of the Oliver stories with Poirot done soon (within a year or two, I hope). I hope also that they keep the actress for the other stories. I am most intrigued on how a story like "Hallowe'en Party" will be handled.
Next, two of my absolute favorite favorite favorite books are "Taken at the Flood" and "After the Funeral". I cannot wait for faithful adaptations of these two wonderful novels. Suchet will be great as always, how about the rest of the facets of the production? Hmmm? These two last books are 'different', especially "Flood". I and including others think that the narration of this story is certainly different, not the mention the neat ending! Ooohhh! I can't wait. Those two books, for me, is what being an Agatha Christie fan is all about!!!
ps: JCB, your AC newspage had 1,002 hits last time I saw it! Congrats! |

I'd like to see Prunella Scales play Ariadne Oliver, but thet's just my opinion. The filmmakers will have to be very careful, as most people know that AO is infact AC. _________________ www.jamescbernthal.tk

I'm not familiar with who Prunella Scales is, actually. I looked her name up on IMDB to see what she's been in, and I only know "Fawlty Towers" and "Coronation Street" by name. Oh! also "Howard's End" (which I loved, but haven't seen in a long long time).
JCB, how is she as an actress to you? I suppose you've seen a lot more productions with her than I have seen. |
