GOSSINGTON HALL

When we are first introduced to Gossington Hall, it was owned by Colonel and Dolly Bantry, old friends of Miss Marple. This residence is found in the eastern part of St. Mary Mead. Dolly Bantry and her husband Arthur were fond of mysteries and had the Tuesday Night Club meet at their house. The Club met every Tuesday night as a social gathering: the group met and shared mysteries and tried to solve them. The Bantry's fondness of mysteries was challenged one morning when the body of a young woman was found in their library. The mystery of the body was solved by Jane Marple, of course.

After Colonel Bantry died, Mrs. Bantry sold Gossington Hall while keeping the little lodge close by. Gossington Hall had several owners before the famous movie star Marina Gregg purchased it. Then, Gossington Hall was a site of yet another murder. It was here during a benefit for raising money that Heather Badcock (who lived in the Development) was poisoned and died. (In the last Marple novel, Sleeping Murder, Colonel Bantry was still alive and the Bantrys still owned Gossington Hall. This is a previous adventure because the novel was originally written during WWII.)
